Hey dudes and chicas, I just wanted to let you know a little bit about a chance to excite many people at Vanguard about the X-Factor. On September 24th (one week earlier than originally planned) we are running the services that day! It will be an amazing chance for us to share our excitement with the church about who we are. We'll have sign up sheets if you're interested in helping out that day. It's an amazing chance for us to share how God is working in our lives...let's rock the house!

A journey into 3rd world America

Wow, that's what comes to my mind about the mission trip to Buras, LA. For those who saw the devestation you understand what I'm talking about, but it's hard to describe to others exactly what we saw.

Imagine whole towns- destroyed. Nearly every house, EVERY business, and every church building wiped out. The most powerful thing for me to see...the Church still exists. It needs no building, no pews, and no powerpoint. The Church is the people, the organism of God that is alive and kicking.

Please ask people about what they saw, what they felt, and what they are thinking now after the trip. If you missed out, plan on it next year. Buras 2007, bring it on.

If you would like to see pictures and hear testimonies we will be doing a sharing time on Wednesday night the 16th in the mid-week worship service. It starts at 5:45 and we will be done in time for X-Factor at the Dub.

Get stoked about a few events this week- WaterWorld...Thursday...8:30-6:30...Please let me know if you're coming and if you're bringing friends so I can plan for drivers.
Also, if you're interested in being on the student leadership team we're having a BBQ at my house on Friday night...6:00-10:30ish (or whenever you have to get picked up)...bring $4 for food...and a Bible...Directions: 7330 Brentford Drive- Take Woodmen Exit off I-25 and head West. Go about two miles. Take right onto Vindicator. Go 1 mile. Take right onto Centennial. At Starbucks take left onto Allegheny. Go a mile or so. Take right onto Silent Rain. Immediate Right onto Brentford. I'm 7330 on the right.

I'm going to shout out a booyah for all those involved in the greatest cookout in the history of church cookouts. Sunday was awesome hanging out with you guys, raising money for the mission trip, and grilling up some amazing meat. Thanks for all your help and thanks for making it such a blast. We raised almost $1,000 toward the mission trip!

Wow, what a stupid, but hilarious movie. The girls behind us throwing us free popcorn, learning that Cletis actually has horrible teeth, and more great laughs from Napoleon...how can you beat that? Good time hanging out...and only fifty cents! It's still hard to believe that bottled water is 6x more expensive than the movie.

Sand & Water Retreat

Hey guys, if you're checking in to see pics of yourself from this trip you know what an amazing time it was. Burning our feet on the dunes or scrambling up them at sunrise, rafting the raging river or jumping in for the cold rush, hanging out with people around the fire or getting some alone time- awesome weekend. It was great getting to know all of you guys, eat watermelon together, watch Coop dance it up down the highway, and hear the stories of your life and how God has changed you. You guys look like rockstars in these pics!
